The Job Our client is seeking a skilled Mechanical Draftsman with experience in SolidWorks to assist a team of engineers and designers in creating detailed 2D and 3D models of mechanical components and systems. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of engineering principles, as well as excellent technical drawing skills and knowledge of SolidWorks software.
Responsibilities:
Create detailed 2D and 3D models of mechanical components and systems using SolidWorks software.
Collaborate with engineers and designers to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
Identify and resolve design issues and errors.
Prepare and review technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics for accuracy and completeness.
Ensure compliance with design standards, codes, and regulations.
Communicate with vendors and suppliers to obtain necessary information and specifications.
Manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet project deadlines.
Continuously improve design and drafting processes to increase efficiency and productivity.
The Person
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
Proficiency in SolidWorks software.
Strong understanding of engineering principles and mechanical systems.
Excellent technical drawing skills and attention to detail.
Familiarity with manufacturing processes and materials.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Familiarity with industry standards and regulations.
Experience with other CAD software (e.g. AutoCAD, Inventor) is a plus.
