About the Company:
Our client, one of Ireland's leading renewable energy providers, is seeking an Environmental Compliance Specialist  for what will soon be one of Ireland's largest anaerobic digestion sites. With full operations underway, this role offers a significant career opportunity within Ireland's renewable energy landscape.
 
The Role:
We are looking for a skilled and committed Environmental Compliance Specialist to manage and ensure compliance across the site. The successful candidate will play a key role in overseeing environmental regulations, maintaining the Company’s Environmental Management System (EMS), and managing health and safety practices to ensure a safe working environment on site.
 
Responsibilities:
Environmental Compliance:
  • Ensure full compliance with EPA IED licence requirements.
  • Conduct regular environmental monitoring and compile necessary reports.
  • Implement, review, and update the Company’s Environmental Management System as required.
Health & Safety:
  • Supervise health and safety operations at both sites.
  • Ensure staff adherence to the Company’s Health & Safety Policies and Procedures.
  • Keep Health & Safety Policies and Procedures current and aligned with best practices.
  • Design and deliver engaging toolbox talks for all site personnel.
  • Conduct site inductions for both employees and contractors.
Additional Duties:
  • Develop and implement quality standards for products derived from food waste.
  • Maintain accurate records for all compliance and health & safety activities.
  • Ensure effective communication with operational teams and management to support seamless compliance and safety operations.
The Person:
  • At least 2 years of experience in an environmental compliance role within a regulated industry.
  • A background in science (Environmental Science, Chemistry, Biology, or a related field is preferred).
  • Strong organisational skills with a methodical approach to work.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage staff at all levels.
  • Exceptional attention to detail for record-keeping and reporting.
  • Proven ability to deliver training, including toolbox talks, to a diverse workforce.
  • Relevant certifications in Environmental Compliance and Health & Safety are an advantage.
