The Company:
Our client is a well-established waste management business who have been operating for over 40 years, currently servicing over 165,000 customers in Dublin. Their operational processes focus on facilitating recycling, composting, and working towards a green, cleaner world. They are seeking to recruit an experienced and motivated Plant Production Manager to set up and manage their new Materials Recovery Facility (MRF).
  
The Role:
We are currently seeking an MRF Plant Production Supervisor to join our team in Dublin on a full-time, permanent basis. This role involves overseeing the daily operations of the Materials Recovery Facility (MRF), supervising personnel, optimising productivity, ensuring efficient plant operations, and maintaining a safe working environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and the ability to manage a fast-paced environment.
  
Responsibilities:
  • Provide day-to-day supervision of MRF personnel, ensuring efficient and safe work completion.
  • Act as the direct reporting line for all staff within the MRF.
  • Identify and implement best practices to maximise production output and improve operational efficiency.
  • Regularly review performance data and lead the team to achieve KPI targets.
  • Collaborate with the MRF Manager to develop work schedules, ensuring operational and leave coverage.
  • Monitor daily operations, including staffing levels, material handling, and production targets.
  • Ensure efficient use of resources, including fuel, staffing hours, and adherence to the 5S methodology.
  • Address contamination issues in incoming loads and adjust pricing as required.
  • Oversee compliant handling, separation, and delivery of waste materials to appropriate outlets.
  • Implement a comprehensive maintenance program for fixed and mobile plant equipment.
  • Ensure all personnel are fully trained and adhere to Health & Safety guidelines.
  • Monitor weighbridge traffic, diesel usage, and waste categorisation for revenue and cost control.
  • Address safety concerns promptly and maintain a safe working environment.
  • Support other operational activities as directed by the MRF Manager.
  
The Person:
  • Proven supervisory experience in a production or waste management environment.
  • Experience managing teams in a labour-intensive, multi-shift operation.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills to motivate and guide staff.
  • Familiarity with MRF equipment and mobile plant machinery operations and maintenance.
  • Ability to thrive in a site-based, fast-paced environment.
