On behalf of our client, Harper Finley are recruiting a Plant Production Manager on a full time, permanent basis. Our client is a well-established company in the food production industry, dedicated to high quality & sustainable manufacturing. This role reports to the Managing Director and is responsible for plant operations. Experience working in a supervisory role within the FMCG industry is essential.
  
Duties & Responsibilities:
  • KPI Management

  • Champion a safe working environment through regular safety initiatives, visible leadership, and strict compliance with health, safety, and environmental legislation.
  • Drive consistent employee performance and development in line with current and future HR needs, ensuring adherence to company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with company, regulatory, and third-party food safety and quality standards by providing the necessary resources, training, and controls across all quality functions.
  • Lead the HACCP team and work closely with the Quality team
  • Monitor and analyze quality KPIs regularly, reporting performance trends to management and ensuring continuous improvement through cross-functional collaboration.
  • Oversee day-to-day plant operations, ensuring alignment with business plan objectives, production schedules, and quality standards while leading a hands-on manufacturing team.
  • Manage engineering functions, equipment performance, preventative maintenance, and stock requirements to support efficient, cost-effective production.
  • Control the manufacturing budget and implement reporting systems to track performance across costs, efficiency, inventory, and customer service, driving continuous improvement and capital planning.
  • Lead demand planning, production scheduling, and staffing to ensure timely delivery, optimal resource use, and minimal stock obsolescence.
  • Manage warehousing, inventory control, and 3PL logistics to ensure efficient receipt, storage, and distribution of materials and finished goods.
  • Implement procedures to maintain adherence to production plans while balancing cost efficiency, inventory accuracy, and high customer service levels.
  
Qualifications and Experience Required:
  • Previous experience working in a production supervisory role
  • 3 years’ experience in the food industry
