Harper Finley is currently hiring an experienced Maintenance Technician (Electrical & Mechanical) on behalf of our client, a food production company based in Blanchardstown, Dublin 15. This is a fantastic opportunity for a proactive and technically skilled individual to join a high-performing maintenance team in a fast-paced production environment supplying the retail and foodservice sectors.
Key Responsibilities:
Execute and maintain the preventative maintenance programme to minimise downtime.
Respond to equipment breakdowns swiftly and effectively during shifts.
Conduct root cause analysis and implement long-term corrective actions.
Use schematics to diagnose faults and carry out repairs on electrical/mechanical systems.
Maintain accurate records in line with food safety and audit standards.
Monitor and manage spare parts inventory and maintenance costs.
Adhere to and promote health & safety practices across all tasks.
Liaise closely with production, QA, and operational teams to ensure maintenance supports business goals.
Coordinate external contractors and ensure compliance on site.
Contribute to continuous improvement and business development initiatives.
Required Skills & Experience:
Trade qualification or diploma in Electrical/Electronics.
Solid experience with 3-phase, single-phase, and low-voltage DC systems.
Capable of reading electrical schematics and wiring components such as MCBs, RCDs, etc.
Practical experience with PLCs, MMIs, and process control equipment.
Familiarity with motors, gearboxes, pumps, and pneumatics.
Minimum 3 years’ experience in a maintenance role within the food industry (chilled environment preferred).
Strong computer skills and good communication in English (spoken and written); additional languages a bonus.
