The Company:

The Role:
An experienced Engineer Surveyor is required to carry out engineering equipment assessments across a defined technical discipline. The role involves conducting on-site inspections, assessing plant safety, and producing technical reports in compliance with statutory regulations and internal quality standards.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Perform detailed inspections and safety assessments of plant and equipment in line with relevant technical and legislative standards.
  • Use professional engineering judgement to evaluate equipment condition and categorise risk levels.
  • Produce clear, accurate inspection reports to required quality standards within agreed timeframes.
  • Manage assigned work efficiently, ensuring all client inspections are booked and completed within target dates.
  • Provide technical support and advice to colleagues and clients to maintain a consistent, high-quality service.
  • Contribute to the development of technical standards, new services, and process improvements.
  • Undertake coaching or mentoring of other technical staff where required.
  • Support team and company objectives, including compliance with quality, health, and safety standards.
  • Deliver projects within budget and service level agreements, ensuring profitability and client satisfaction.
The Person:
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline.
  • Relevant industry qualification such as Level 4 / HNC or equivalent, in line with UKAS requirements.
  • Proven experience performing engineering inspections, safety audits, or technical assessments.
  • Strong understanding of applicable legislation and standards (e.g., PUWER, LOLER, PSSR).
  • Excellent technical writing and report-generation skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Confident communicator, capable of liaising with clients and explaining findings clearly.
  • Self-motivated, organised, and able to manage workload independently.
  • Full driving licence and willingness to travel to client locations as required.
Desirable:
  • Previous experience in an engineering inspection or insurance environment.
  • Familiarity with quality management systems (ISO9001).
  • Experience mentoring or coaching junior engineers.
  • Ability to contribute to new product or service development initiatives.

The Offer:
  • Salary of between €60,000 - €65,000
