Our client is a well-established Irish-owned business operating within the energy and engineering sector, with a strong reputation for delivering reliable solutions to commercial and industrial clients. As the business continues to grow, they are seeking an experienced Financial Controller to take ownership of the finance function, overseeing day-to-day operations while providing accurate reporting, commercial insight, and strategic support to senior leadership. This is an excellent opportunity for a finance professional who enjoys a broad remit, improving processes, and playing a key role in supporting the continued growth of the business.
 
Responsibilities
  • Managing the full finance function and overseeing day-to-day accounting operations
  • Preparing monthly management accounts, financial reports, and performance analysis
  • Leading budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management processes
  • Ensuring accurate month-end and year-end reporting
  • Managing relationships with external auditors, accountants, and key stakeholders
  • Improving financial controls, systems, and reporting processes
  • Providing commercial insights to support business decision-making
  • Supporting senior management with financial planning and business strategy
 
Requirements
  • 5+ years' experience within a finance/accounting role, with experience at Financial Controller, Finance Manager, or senior accounting level
  • Strong experience preparing management accounts and financial reports
  • Excellent knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
  • Strong attention to detail with a commercial mindset
  • Ability to work autonomously and take ownership of the finance function
  • Experience within an SME or growing organisation would be advantageous
