The Role
We are recruiting an Operations Manager for an established business within the audio-visual rental, live events and technical production industry.
This is a hands-on, commercially focused role responsible for the end-to-end operational delivery of events, ensuring equipment, crew and logistics are properly planned, coordinated and delivered while maintaining service standards and protecting margins.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Manage AV equipment inventory, preparation, testing, dispatch and returns using rental asset management systems.
  • Coordinate warehouse, transport, logistics and equipment requirements across multiple concurrent events.
  • Identify equipment shortages and manage cross-rental/sub-rental requirements while controlling costs.
  • Schedule and manage permanent and freelance technical crew.
  • Monitor labour, overtime, travel, equipment utilisation and sub-rental costs to support profitability.
  • Oversee RAMS, crew certifications and operational health & safety requirements.
  • Act as the operational point of contact for significant technical, staffing or logistical issues.
  • Develop SOPs and improve operational systems and processes.
  • Work closely with sales and technical teams to ensure client commitments are operationally achievable.
The Ideal Candidate
The Operations Manager will have:
  • Proven operations experience within AV rental, live events, technical production or a closely related environment.
  • Strong knowledge of professional AV equipment and event production workflows.
  • Experience with rental inventory or asset management software; Current RMS is highly desirable.
  • Experience coordinating equipment, logistics and technical crews across multiple jobs.
  • Strong commercial understanding of labour costs, equipment utilisation and sub-rental expenditure.
  • Experience managing permanent and freelance technical/event crew.
  • Good knowledge of RAMS and event health & safety requirements.
You will be calm under pressure, commercially minded, highly organised and hands-on, with the confidence to work with technical teams, suppliers, sales teams and senior stakeholders.
