Our client is an established Irish waste management business operating a dedicated HGV fleet. The Transport Manager will oversee approximately 40 trucks and 45 drivers, working alongside the Fleet & Garage Manager and managing the Transport Planner. With established routes and an experienced driver team in place, the role will focus on ensuring efficient, compliant operations while introducing improvements, KPIs and fresh ideas.
Responsibilities
Oversee daily transport operations across 40 trucks and 45 drivers.
Manage and develop the Transport Planner.
Work closely with the Fleet & Garage Manager.
Monitor and optimise routes, fleet utilisation and driver performance.
Introduce KPIs, reporting and improved transport processes.
Ensure compliance with transport legislation, tachographs and drivers' hours.
Manage driver performance, attendance and operational issues.
Drive safety, efficiency and continuous improvement.
Requirements
Proven experience as a Transport Manager, Transport Operations Manager or similar.
Strong HGV transport and driver management experience.
Experience managing a sizeable fleet and driver workforce.
C Licence.
Driver CPC qualification/card.
Digital Tachograph Card.
Strong knowledge of Irish transport legislation, drivers' hours and tachograph compliance.
Experience introducing KPIs, processes and operational improvements.
Strong leadership, organisational and problem-solving skills.
A practical, hands-on approach with the confidence to challenge existing processes and implement positive change.
