Accounts Administrator

We are looking for an Accounts Administrator to join the Finance team within a growing engineering and manufacturing business. The role will cover day-to-day finance administration, reconciliations and general accounts support, and would suit someone who is confident working independently and managing a varied workload.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Complete bank, supplier, customer and credit card reconciliations.
  • Investigate and resolve account discrepancies and variances.
  • Support Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes.
  • Assist with month-end reporting and general financial administration.
  • Process payments, including multi-currency transactions.
  • Support Revenue compliance, including VAT and related submissions.
  • Liaise with external accountants and advisers as required.
  • Support the Finance Manager with day-to-day finance activities.
  • Ensure financial processes are completed accurately and within agreed deadlines.
  • Contribute to process improvements as the business continues to grow.
About You
  • 2-3 years' experience in an Accounts Administrator, Accounts Assistant or similar role.
  • Strong reconciliation skills and excellent attention to detail.
  • Good knowledge of Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and day-to-day accounting processes.
  • Experience with bank reconciliations and resolving account discrepancies.
  • Good understanding of Revenue and VAT processes is an advantage.
  • Ability to work independently, use initiative and manage your own workload.
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and work to deadlines.
  • Good IT skills, particularly Microsoft Excel and accounting systems.
Desirable Experience
  • Experience working in an engineering, construction, manufacturing or project-based environment.
  • Experience handling multi-currency transactions.
  • Experience working with external accountants or auditors.
  • Relevant accounting or finance qualification.
