The Company We're partnering with a fast-growing agricultural business to recruit a Field Agent - Livestock Procurement & Farm Relations to join their expanding team. This is a field-based role suited to someone with a strong livestock background, ideally with experience working in or around livestock marts, who enjoys dealing directly with farmers and building long-term relationships.
The Role You'll be responsible for building relationships with farmers, livestock producers and industry contacts to secure a consistent supply of quality calves. You'll spend much of your time out on farms and at marts, developing existing relationships, identifying new suppliers and representing the business across your region.
Key Responsibilities
Building and maintaining strong relationships with farmers and livestock producers
Attending farms and livestock marts to develop new supply opportunities
Sourcing calves in line with company specifications and welfare standards
Identifying and onboarding new calf suppliers
Negotiating purchasing arrangements with farmers and producers
Monitoring local livestock markets and competitor activity
Maintaining accurate supplier and procurement records
Providing updates on supply, market trends and forecasts
The Person
Experience within livestock farming, livestock marts, calf procurement or agricultural sales
Mart experience would be a strong advantage
Good knowledge of cattle, calf quality, health and welfare
Strong communication and relationship-building skills
Commercially aware and confident negotiating with farmers and producers
Self-motivated and comfortable working independently
Full UK driving licence and willing to travel regularly
The Offer:
£40,000 - £45,000 base salary
Company vehicle or mileage allowance
Field-based position with a high level of autonomy
