Harper Finley have partnered with a market leading waste management company to hire a Transport Manager on a full-time, permanent basis in Dublin, 22. This person will take ownership of the transport department, managing a team of three planners and a medium-sized fleet. This company has gone from strength to strength in recent years, with plans for continued growth it's an excellent opportunity to join a fantastic team.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Lead, coach, and develop a team of Transport Planners to deliver an efficient and reliable service.
Oversee the day-to-day running of our fleet, ensuring compliance, safety, and optimal utilisation of vehicles.
Work closely with Sales and Customer Service teams to ensure customer requirements are fully understood and met on time, every time.
Monitor performance metrics and implement initiatives to improve cost efficiency without compromising service quality.
Ensure compliance with transport legislation, company policies, and industry best practices.
Identify opportunities to streamline operations and introduce improvements to scheduling, routing, and resource allocation.
Qualifications & Experience Required:
Proven experience in a transport management role, ideally within waste management, FMCG, logistics, or a related industry.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills to build strong relationships across departments.
Commercially aware, with a track record of driving efficiency and controlling costs.
Knowledge of transport compliance and health & safety requirements.
Salary:
€55,000
