Electrical Engineer – HV Substation Design
Our client, recognised as one of the leading High Voltage and Medium Voltage engineering service companies in Ireland, are seeking an Electrical Engineer to design and develop HV substation projects (10kV–220kV) in Naas, County Kildare. Reporting to senior engineering management, this role is an excellent opportunity for someone holding a degree in Electrical Engineering with a keen interest in Power Systems.
Key Responsibilities:• Prepare engineering drawings, including substation layouts, elevations, and lightning zones.
• Develop panel schematic drawings and protection/control schemes.
• Prepare equipment specifications and perform technical evaluation of equipment offers.
• Write technical reports and documentation.
• Provide technical leadership and support across substation design projects.
Requirements:• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Familiarity with HV substation design from 10kV to 220kV
• Full, Driver’s License
• Knowledge of ESB standards (desirable but not essential)
• Proficiency in Eplan and AutoCAD 2D (desirable but not essential)
• Strong interpersonal skills, team player, and safety focused.
• Analytical yet creative approach to problem solving
• Motivated and able to work independently
