The Company Our client is a long-established food production business with over 30 years of success in both domestic and European markets. Operating from a state-of-the-art facility in West Dublin, the company continues to expand and now seeks an experienced Engineering Manager to lead its maintenance and engineering function.

The Role The Engineering Manager will oversee all maintenance, utilities, and plant operations to ensure maximum equipment efficiency and reliability. This role involves driving preventative maintenance, continuous improvement, and innovation across the site, while leading a skilled engineering team and supporting production and quality objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Maintenance & Engineering
  • Develop and lead a proactive maintenance program to minimise downtime and optimise efficiency.
  • Oversee all utilities, plant, and equipment maintenance, ensuring compliance and reliability.
  • Manage site facilities and coordinate planned maintenance around production schedules.
Continuous Improvement
  • Drive process and maintenance improvements to enhance productivity and cost efficiency.
  • Identify, recommend, and lead implementation of new technologies and equipment upgrades.
People Management
  • Lead, develop, and motivate the maintenance team to deliver high performance.
  • Identify training needs and promote a culture of safety, teamwork, and accountability.
Health & Safety
  • Ensure all maintenance activities meet safety and hygiene standards.
  • Promote and enforce safe working practices across the site.
Projects & Collaboration
  • Manage engineering projects including equipment installations and refurbishments.
  • Collaborate with Production, Quality, and Product Development on new initiatives.
The Person
  • Degree in Engineering or related discipline (or equivalent experience)
  • 5+ years in a senior maintenance or engineering role, ideally within food or pharmaceutical manufacturing.
  • Strong technical knowledge, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
  • Proven record in implementing maintenance systems and leading improvement initiatives.
  • Hands-on leader with strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Proactive, solution-focused, and commercially aware.
