The Role We are seeking a detail-oriented and driven Electrical Engineer to join our Tendering team. This role is perfect for a professional looking to expand into tendering and commercial project development. Key Responsibilities:
Review and interpret client tender documentation for HV and MV infrastructure projects
Develop complete, compliant technical and commercial submissions for substations (AIS & GIS), transmission lines, and grid connections
Prepare cost estimates, bills of quantities, and pricing strategies based on technical scope and project risk assessment
Develop project programmes and propose value engineering solutions to optimize timelines
Draft detailed scopes of work covering technical deliverables and recommended value engineering approaches
Collaborate with suppliers and subcontractors to foster strong working relationships
Ensure timely bid submissions and track tender progress
Participate in clarification meetings and project handovers
Manage multiple tenders concurrently, adapting to submission deadlines and project requirements
Qualifications & Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
Minimum 5 years' experience in HV and MV engineering and design
Familiarity with tendering processes and full project lifecycles
Experience in primary and secondary substation design is advantageous
Knowledge of ESB and EirGrid standards and practices
Ability to interpret basic civil engineering concepts for civil pricing review
Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite and SharePoint (Office 365)
Strong understanding of utility standards and safety practices
Team player with commitment to supporting overall team success
Ability to travel to project sites as required
