We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Bookkeeper to join our clients finance team on a full-time, onsite basis in Cork. This role is responsible for managing daily accounting functions, maintaining accurate financial records, and supporting smooth financial operations.
Main Responsibilities
Set up and maintain debtor and creditor accounts
Process customer invoices on a daily basis
Perform credit control activities to ensure prompt payment receipts
Liaise with customers and resolve invoice-related queries
Process cash receipts, customer payments, and bank lodgements
Input and maintain vendor invoices
Prepare and process payment runs through online banking
Complete monthly bank account reconciliations
Reconcile company credit cards
Prepare bi-monthly VAT returns
Process VIES/Intrastat
Post monthly journals into the accounting system
Maintain multicurrency exchange rates
Ensure accurate and organised financial filing systems
Liaise with auditors and prepare required audit documentation
Attend training seminars and classes as needed
Support management with additional tasks as required
Qualifications
AAT accreditation preferred
Other recognised accountancy qualifications (ACCA, CPA, CIMA, ATI, etc.) or strong relevant experience are an advantage
Requirements
Minimum 1-2 years' experience in a similar bookkeeping or accounting role
Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Ability to handle sensitive financial information with confidentiality
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines
