We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Bookkeeper to join our clients finance team on a full-time, onsite basis in Cork. This role is responsible for managing daily accounting functions, maintaining accurate financial records, and supporting smooth financial operations.

Main Responsibilities
  • Set up and maintain debtor and creditor accounts
  • Process customer invoices on a daily basis
  • Perform credit control activities to ensure prompt payment receipts
  • Liaise with customers and resolve invoice-related queries
  • Process cash receipts, customer payments, and bank lodgements
  • Input and maintain vendor invoices
  • Prepare and process payment runs through online banking
  • Complete monthly bank account reconciliations
  • Reconcile company credit cards
  • Prepare bi-monthly VAT returns
  • Process VIES/Intrastat
  • Post monthly journals into the accounting system
  • Maintain multicurrency exchange rates
  • Ensure accurate and organised financial filing systems
  • Liaise with auditors and prepare required audit documentation
  • Attend training seminars and classes as needed
  • Support management with additional tasks as required
Qualifications
  • AAT accreditation preferred
  • Other recognised accountancy qualifications (ACCA, CPA, CIMA, ATI, etc.) or strong relevant experience are an advantage
Requirements
  • Minimum 1-2 years' experience in a similar bookkeeping or accounting role
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Flexibility and adaptability to changing tasks
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Positive, proactive, can-do attitude
  • Ability to handle sensitive financial information with confidentiality
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines
  • Strong communication skills and ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
