The Company:
A well-established manufacturing organisation operating a regulated industrial facility in Dublin. The business places a strong emphasis on safety, quality, and continuous improvement, with operations governed by Irish safety legislation, environmental standards, and ISO quality systems.
 
The Role:
The Industrial Fitter will report to the Factory Manager and be responsible for the installation, maintenance, repair, and ongoing improvement of mechanical plant and equipment. The role is critical in ensuring machinery operates safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with statutory and environmental requirements.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Install, maintain, weld, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical equipment including pumps, compressors, gearboxes, conveyors, mixers, motors, and associated pipework
  • Align, assemble, dismantle, and refurbish mechanical and pneumatic systems
  • Diagnose mechanical faults and implement effective corrective actions
  • Carry out preventive and predictive maintenance activities to minimise downtime
  • Complete weekly checks and documentation in line with ISO quality systems and customer requirements
  • Maintain and service steam boiler systems and water softener plant
  • Provide support to production by responding promptly to breakdowns
  • Assist with plant shutdowns, turnarounds, and equipment upgrades
  • Work in full compliance with the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act, ATEX regulations, and Permit-to-Work systems
  • Adhere to lock-out/tag-out, confined space, and hot work procedures
  • Proactively identify and report hazards, leaks, and equipment defects
 
The Person:
  • Qualified Industrial Fitter with a minimum of 5 years' experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment
  • Welding certification is essential
  • Strong experience with pumps, valves, rotating equipment, pipe fitting, and flange work
  • Comfortable working in hazardous or controlled environments
  • Experience in chemical, pharmaceutical, or process plant environments is highly desirable
  • ATEX and confined space training would be an advantage
  • Safety-conscious with strong attention to detail and documentation
 
The Offer:
  • Salary of €46,000 - €55,000 DOE
  • Monday to Thursday 08:30 - 16:30
  • Early Finish on a Friday
