Quantity Surveyor (Electrical) Location: Westport, Co. Mayo Full-time, permanent | Office-based with site work across projects
The Company A well-established electrical and instrumentation (E&I) contractor is seeking a Quantity Surveyor with electrical experience to join its regional support office. The company delivers turnkey E&I projects, supporting clients from design and supply through installation, commissioning, and handover. Operating across Ireland, the UK, and Europe, the business works across sectors such as pharmaceuticals, semi-conductor, food & drink, data centres, and power transmission and distribution. The Role The Quantity Surveyor will support the commercial management of E&I projects, helping ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in line with contract requirements. The role involves managing contracts, sub-contractor accounts, and project reporting, while maintaining accurate commercial records.
Key Responsibilities
Review and interpret project contract documentation, supplier enquiries, and sub-contractor proposals to ensure compliance and accuracy
Prepare detailed, timely project valuations, monthly progress claims, and pricing for variations
Maintain accurate records of claims, certificates, retentions, and sub-contractor accounts for effective commercial control
Monitor and report on project budgets, forecasts, and cash flow to support management decision-making
Produce clear monthly commercial reports highlighting project performance, risks, and potential issues
Collaborate with project teams to provide advice on contractual and commercial matters
Assist in resolving commercial disputes and identifying cost-saving or value engineering opportunities
Support the wider team with any other tasks relevant to commercial project management
Requirements
Relevant qualification in quantity surveying, construction, or related field
Minimum 3 years' QS experience in electrical projects
Strong understanding of contracts and commercial management
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Teams, Projects)
Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and teamwork
Electrical tender experience advantageous
