The Role: An opportunity has arisen for a qualified Maintenance Electrician to join a large industrial operation for the night shift. The role is critical in ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of machinery and equipment, directly contributing to overall productivity and site performance.
Responsibilities:
Install, commission, maintain, and repair electrical systems and equipment within an industrial production environment
Carry out fault-finding and repairs on production lines to minimise downtime
Work hands-on with motors, contactors, VSDs, and PLC-controlled systems
Conduct routine inspections and planned preventative maintenance
Diagnose electrical faults quickly and implement effective corrective actions
Maintain accurate maintenance, fault, and repair records
Work closely with engineers, supervisors, and site teams to support continuous production
Adhere strictly to all health & safety procedures and PPE requirements
Support mechanical maintenance and breakdown response when required
Attend shift meetings and undertake reasonable additional duties as required
The Person:
Qualified Electrician with a completed apprenticeship and National Trade Card
Minimum 2 years’ post-apprenticeship experience within a relevant industrial sector
Proven experience working on production lines is essential
Hands-on experience with motors, contactors, VSDs, and PLCs is required
Strong knowledge of industrial electrical installations, fault-finding, and safety practices
Mechanical aptitude and willingness to assist with mechanical breakdowns
MEWP experience advantageous
Strong communication skills with fluent English
Organised, calm under pressure, and able to work independently or as part of a team
