Overview This is a key senior finance leadership role, reporting directly to the Commercial Director. The Financial Controller will take ownership of the day-to-day finance function while playing a pivotal role in modernising and improving financial systems and processes.
Key Responsibilities
Report directly to the Commercial Director, providing timely and accurate financial insights
Manage and develop the finance team, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Payroll
Oversee month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes
Lead the implementation of a new finance system, from selection through to rollout and optimisation
Improve financial controls, reporting, and forecasting processes
Support budgeting, cash flow management, and commercial decision-making
Liaise with external auditors, advisors, and stakeholders as required
Ensure compliance with statutory reporting and regulatory requirements
Requirements
Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent)
Proven experience in a Financial Controller or senior finance management role
Demonstrable experience implementing or upgrading a finance system
Strong people management skills with experience leading transactional finance teams
Commercially minded with the ability to operate at both strategic and hands-on levels
Excellent attention to detail and stakeholder management skills
Happy to be based in Arklow, on-site 5 days per week initially
Salary Recommendation
€80,000 - €90,000 base salary, depending on experience
