The Company
A well-established and growing hardware and construction supplies company is seeking a commercially driven and detail-oriented Internal Sales / Telesales Representative to join its expanding team.
This role combines inbound and outbound telesales, retail sales support, and proactive business development. The successful candidate will play a key role in growing large-scale construction accounts and self-build business while maintaining exceptional customer service standards.
Attention to detail is essential in managing quotations, pricing, CRM records, and project follow-ups.
 
Responsibilities
  • Manage inbound and outbound sales calls professionally and efficiently
  • Convert enquiries into confirmed sales using a consultative selling approach
  • Meet and exceed agreed sales and margin targets
  • Upsell and cross-sell across the hardware and construction product range
  • Lead large-scale construction and self-build business development initiatives
  • Identify and pursue new project opportunities
  • Investigate opportunities via the CIS platform and proactively develop leads
  • Create, manage, and progress your own pipeline of sales opportunities
  • Build long-term relationships with contractors, builders, and self-build clients
  • Use CRM systems daily to log activity, track leads, and manage follow-ups
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date customer and project records
  • Monitor quotation performance and conversion ratios
  • Ensure structured pipeline management and timely progression of opportunities
  • Prepare accurate quotations and process customer orders
  • Follow up on outstanding quotes and project pricing
  • Liaise closely with warehouse and delivery teams to ensure seamless fulfilment
  • Support internal sales reporting and performance tracking
 
Requirements
  • Previous experience in internal sales, telesales, retail sales, or construction-related sales
  • Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills
  • Proven ability to generate and develop new business
  • Proficiency in CRM systems and structured pipeline management
  • Excellent organisational skills with strong attention to detail
  • Target-driven, self-motivated, and team-oriented
Desirable:
  • Knowledge of hardware products and construction materials
  • Experience working with builders, contractors, or self-build customers
  • Familiarity with the CIS construction information platform
