The Company A well-established accountancy and advisory practice is seeking a qualified Portfolio Manager to join its team. The role involves managing a diverse client portfolio, delivering accounting, compliance, and advisory services, and maintaining strong client relationships. This is a key position within a fast-paced environment, with responsibility for overseeing financial reporting and supporting the development of junior team members.
Responsibilities
Manage a portfolio of SME clients and regulated entities, acting as the main point of contact
Build and maintain strong client relationships, providing proactive financial and business advice
Review and prepare financial statements, management accounts, and tax returns
Ensure all work is completed in line with relevant accounting standards and regulatory requirements
Monitor deadlines and ensure timely delivery of client assignments
Liaise with internal departments, including audit, as required
Supervise and mentor junior staff, reviewing work and providing technical guidance
Manage workflow within the team to meet deadlines and support overall efficiency
Identify opportunities to provide additional advisory services and support practice growth
Assist with client onboarding and proposal preparation
Requirements
Professionally qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or equivalent)
Minimum 5+ years' experience within an accountancy practice
Proven experience managing a portfolio of SME clients
Strong technical knowledge of accounting standards and tax compliance
Experience with regulated entities or financial services clients is an advantage
Excellent communication, organisational, and relationship management skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and lead a team effectively
