About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Transport & Logistics Manager to lead day-to-day operations across our Transport Logistics function.
This is a hands-on leadership role with responsibility for fleet operations, domestic planning, and a small transit warehouse. You will play a key role in driving operational efficiency, leading teams, and supporting continuous improvement across the business.
  
Key Responsibilities
Operations & Leadership
  • Lead and manage the full transport function, ensuring fleet productivity and performance
  • Oversee domestic planning activities and subcontractor performance (SLAs)
  • Manage a small transit warehouse and associated team
  • Drive a culture of accountability, safety, and high performance
  • Lead daily team briefings, coaching, and performance development
Fleet & Compliance
  • Manage drivers, vehicles, maintenance, and training
  • Ensure full compliance with transport legislation and safe operating practices
  • Maintain Good Distribution Practice (GDP) and QEHS standards
  • Oversee driver wage control and operational cost management
Continuous Improvement
  • Identify and implement operational improvements
  • Resolve queries and complaints effectively, embedding learnings
  • Support training, development, and succession planning
  • Ensure accurate training and compliance records are maintained
Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Work closely with Import/Export Planning, Finance, HR, and Business Development
  • Build strong relationships with customers and promote a high standard of service delivery
  
About You
Essential:
  • Proven experience managing transport or logistics operations
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a leadership role
  • Experience managing teams in fast-paced environments
  • Strong knowledge of Irish and European transport networks
  • Understanding of hazardous goods transportation
  • Excellent communication, planning, and organisational skills
  • Strong IT skills (planning systems and reporting tools)
Desirable:
  • Knowledge of transport legislation and compliance
  • CPC (Transport Manager) qualification
  • Dangerous Goods Safety Advisor certification
  • Relevant degree or diploma
