The Role
We are seeking a commercially aware and detail-oriented Procurement Officer to manage purchasing activities across multiple engineering and construction projects. You will play a key role in sourcing materials and services, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring cost-effective, timely procurement to support project delivery. You will work closely with project teams, finance, and operations to deliver high-quality outcomes across multiple live projects.
 
Responsibilities
  • Source materials, plant, and subcontract services in line with project specifications
  • Obtain, evaluate, and benchmark supplier quotations to ensure best value and quality
  • Issue purchase orders and track progress to ensure timely delivery
  • Build and maintain strong supplier relationships and negotiate terms where appropriate
  • Monitor supplier performance and resolve issues proactively
  • Support cost control initiatives and track procurement spend against budgets
  • Liaise with project managers and site teams to understand requirements
  • Ensure procurement activity aligns with internal controls, compliance, and audit requirements
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of procurement processes
 
Requirements
Essential:
  • 2-5 years' experience in procurement or purchasing
  • Experience in construction, engineering, or manufacturing environments
  • Strong negotiation, supplier management, and commercial awareness skills
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills
  • Proficient in Excel and procurement / ERP systems
Desirable:
  • Experience in project-based environments
  • Familiarity with ERP systems
  • Understanding of technical materials or engineering components
