The Role We are seeking a commercially aware and detail-oriented Procurement Officer to manage purchasing activities across multiple engineering and construction projects. You will play a key role in sourcing materials and services, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring cost-effective, timely procurement to support project delivery. You will work closely with project teams, finance, and operations to deliver high-quality outcomes across multiple live projects.
Responsibilities
Source materials, plant, and subcontract services in line with project specifications
Obtain, evaluate, and benchmark supplier quotations to ensure best value and quality
Issue purchase orders and track progress to ensure timely delivery
Build and maintain strong supplier relationships and negotiate terms where appropriate
Monitor supplier performance and resolve issues proactively
Support cost control initiatives and track procurement spend against budgets
Liaise with project managers and site teams to understand requirements
Ensure procurement activity aligns with internal controls, compliance, and audit requirements
Contribute to continuous improvement of procurement processes
Requirements Essential:
2-5 years' experience in procurement or purchasing
Experience in construction, engineering, or manufacturing environments
Strong negotiation, supplier management, and commercial awareness skills
Excellent organisational and communication skills
Proficient in Excel and procurement / ERP systems
Desirable:
Experience in project-based environments
Familiarity with ERP systems
Understanding of technical materials or engineering components
