The Role: Our client is seeking a Field-Based Plant Fitter to join their team, supporting operations across Ireland and internationally. This role will initially involve a project-based assignment in Helsinki, Finland, before transitioning back to a field-based position covering client sites across South Leinster. The successful candidate will play a key role in both the inspection and maintenance of lifting equipment, as well as carrying out operator competency assessments on mobile plant machinery.
Project Assignment - Finland: As part of this role, you will be required to travel to Helsinki, Finland for a number of months to support a major client project. During this time, you will:
Conduct detailed inspections of lifting equipment to ensure compliance with safety standards
Carry out assessments of operators to evaluate their ability to safely operate mobile plant machinery on site
Work closely with site management to maintain high safety and operational standards
All accommodation, flights, and expenses will be fully covered. Full training will be provided in advance. Candidates must be comfortable working and living abroad for an extended period.
Ongoing Role - Ireland: Following the completion of the Finland project, you will return to Ireland and take on a field-based position, where you will:
Install, maintain, and repair a range of lifting equipment, including gantry cranes, hoists, and lifts
Diagnose mechanical faults and implement effective solutions
Ensure all installations and maintenance work meet current safety standards and regulations
Work with a range of hand and power tools
Build strong relationships with clients and provide technical support as required
Complete accurate documentation, including job reports and safety records
Key Responsibilities:
Inspection, servicing, and repair of lifting equipment
Assessment of operator competency on mobile plant machinery
Fault finding and preventative maintenance
Ensuring compliance with all relevant health & safety standards
Supporting clients with technical expertise and guidance
Requirements:
Qualified Plant Fitter with experience in an industrial environment
Experience working with lifting equipment and/or mobile plant machinery
Strong understanding of mechanical systems and safety regulations
Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and schematics
Experience carrying out inspections or certifications (desirable)
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Full clean driving licence
Willingness to travel internationally and stay abroad for extended periods
Package:
€24 per hour
€10 daily subsistence (tax-free)
€3,000 annual bonus
Double time overtime
Average earnings of €60,000 - €70,000
