The Role: Our client is seeking a Field-Based Plant Fitter to join their team, supporting operations across Ireland and internationally. This role will initially involve a project-based assignment in Helsinki, Finland, before transitioning back to a field-based position covering client sites across South Leinster.
This is a dual-focused role, with a strong emphasis on operator competency assessments on mobile plant machinery, while also remaining hands-on with the inspection, maintenance, and repair of lifting equipment.
Project Assignment – Finland: As part of this role, you will be required to travel to Helsinki, Finland for a number of months to support a major client project. The primary focus during this assignment will be on conducting operator competency assessments, ensuring personnel can safely operate mobile plant machinery in line with site and regulatory standards.
Alongside assessments, you will also remain actively on the tools, carrying out inspections and supporting maintenance activities on lifting equipment.
During this time, you will:
Carry out operator competency assessments on mobile plant machinery, with a strong focus on safety and compliance
Conduct detailed inspections of lifting equipment to ensure adherence to safety standards
Support hands-on maintenance and fault finding as required on site
Work closely with site management to maintain high safety and operational standards
All accommodation, flights, and expenses will be fully covered. Full training will be provided in advance. Candidates must be comfortable working and living abroad for an extended period.
While based in Helsinki, you will have the opportunity to earn €1,000net per week, with all living costs covered.
Ongoing Role – Ireland:
Conducting operator competency assessments across client sites
Installing, maintaining, and repairing a range of lifting equipment, including gantry cranes, hoists, and lifts
Diagnosing mechanical faults and implementing effective solutions
Ensuring all work meets current safety standards and regulations
Building strong relationships with clients and providing technical support
Completing accurate documentation, including job reports and safety records
Requirements:
Qualified Plant Fitter with experience in an industrial environment
Experience with mobile plant machinery and/or lifting equipment
Strong understanding of mechanical systems and safety regulations
Experience carrying out operator assessments or certifications (highly desirable)
Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and schematics
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Full clean driving licence
Willingness to travel internationally and stay abroad for extended periods
The Offer:
€24 per hour
€10 daily subsistence (tax-free)
€3,000 annual bonus
Double time overtime
Average earnings of €60,000 – €70,000
