Farm Administrator We are currently recruiting for a Farm Administrator on a full-time, permanent basis in Somerset. This role offers the opportunity to join a well-established agricultural business committed to sustainable farming and high animal welfare standards.
The position will be primarily based in the farm office, with one day per week in the Collection Centre. There will also be a requirement to provide occasional hands-on support on the farm as needed, so a flexible and proactive approach is essential.
Duties & Responsibilities Collection Centre:
Coordinate calf transport logistics, including APHA licensing for TB movements
Update BCMS and internal systems with calf movements
Maintain accurate digital records using internal software
Farm Administration:
Manage all BCMS activities including on/off movements, death registrations, and passport selection
Handle administration, filing, and secure storage of calf passports
APHA Licensing:
Submit and manage TB movement licence applications, including amendments and issue resolution
Stocklist & Records Management:
Maintain internal stock records, including intake, movements, and deaths
Ensure cattle records are consistently updated (medications, vaccinations, weights, movements)
Prepare documentation for veterinary visits and routine health procedures
Support compliance with animal welfare procedures (e.g. vaccinations, TB testing, dehorning, castration)
Additional Support:
Provide occasional practical assistance on the farm when required, particularly during busy periods
Experience & Requirements
Minimum 2 years’ experience in a farm administration or similar role
Strong working knowledge of BCMS and APHA licensing processes
Experience managing cattle passports and resolving related queries (including TB cases)
Highly organised with strong attention to detail
Willingness to support wider farm operations when needed
