The Role:
Our client is seeking an experienced Rigger to join their team for a project-based international assignment in Helsinki, Finland. This is a hands-on role focused on lifting operations, rigging activities, and supporting the safe movement and installation of heavy equipment on-site.
This position combines practical rigging responsibilities with a strong emphasis on safety, planning, and coordination of lifting operations.

Project Assignment – Finland:
As part of this role, you will be required to travel to Helsinki, Finland for a number of months to support a major client project. The primary focus will be on carrying out rigging operations and ensuring all lifting activities are executed safely and efficiently in line with site and regulatory standards.
During this time, you will:
  • Carry out rigging, slinging, and signalling for lifting operations
  • Assist with the setup and dismantling of lifting equipment and associated gear
  • Ensure all lifting activities are conducted in line with safety procedures and best practice
  • Inspect lifting gear and ensure all equipment is certified and fit for use
  • Work closely with crane operators, site supervisors, and engineers to coordinate lifts
  • Train and support on-site personnel in safe rigging and lifting practices
  • Maintain a strong focus on health & safety and compliance at all times
Accommodation and flights will be fully covered. Full training will be provided in advance. Candidates must be comfortable working and living abroad for an extended period.
While based in Helsinki, you will have the opportunity to earn €1,000 net per week, with all living costs covered.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform rigging and lifting duties in a safe and controlled manner
  • Interpret lifting plans and method statements
  • Select appropriate lifting gear for specific tasks
  • Conduct pre-use inspections of rigging equipment
  • Communicate effectively using standard signalling methods
  • Assist with mechanical installation and positioning of equipment
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations and site procedures
The Person:
  • Proven experience working as a Rigger in an industrial or construction environment
  • Valid rigging/slinging certification (essential)
  • Strong understanding of lifting operations and safety standards
  • Experience working alongside cranes and heavy lifting equipment
  • Ability to read and interpret lifting plans and technical drawings
  • Strong awareness of health & safety practices
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Willingness to travel internationally and stay abroad for extended periods
